Gear up for some breathtaking and budget-friendly adventures this summer as Biyahe Ni Drew brings viewers to various summer destinations.
Beginning April 5, Biyahe ni Drew kicks off its summer special in Pagudpud, Ilocos!
The sand, wind, and surf, all these are found in Pagudpud. Depending on the budget, tourists can reach Pagudpud either by land or by plane.
If travel funds are just enough, tourists can opt for a 10-12 hour land trip via bus or private vehicle.
But if money is not an issue, taking a 45-minute flight from Manila to Laoag City followed by 2-3 hours of land travel is the shortest and easiest way to reach Pagudpud.
When it comes to accommodations, ultimate biyahero Drew Arellano recommends some convenient places to stay.
First on the list is the high-end Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center, a beachfront resort with rooms ranging from 3,000-20,000 pesos followed by Kapuluan Vista Resort with rooms ranging from 1,300 to 4,750 pesos a night.
But for those with tight budget or those wanting to try the local lifestyle, day-trippers can opt for an overnight homestay in a local resident’s house for 250 pesos a night. Just make sure that the house is accredited by the Department of Tourism.
Since Pagudpud faces the West Philippine Sea, it boasts of a good weather perfect for kite surfing! Lessons for beginners amount up to 2,300 pesos.
It may be heavy on the budget but the kite-surfing experience proves that Pagudpud deserves to be in the list of the Top 10 Kite Surfing Destinations.
Aside from kite surfing, Biyahe ni Drew also recommends travelers to try surfing lessons and ATV rides available in the area.
Plus, Drew reminds tourist to visit the must-see Bangui windmills – the giant structures that supply almost 40% of electricity in Ilocos Norte.
Pagudpud also has some delectable dishes. Aside from traditional Ilocano cuisines in Evangeline’s, Drew also tries German cuisine in Bergblik and Italian fare in Tartarugas.
And before going back to Manila, Biyahe ni Drew visits Kangkang to try its crispy lechon and pinakbet!
Join Biyahe ni Drew in this two-month summer special every Friday, 10pm on GMA News TV.
